It is a very sad week this week. The coolers at work seem to no longer have regular coke with lime. The supermarkets stopped carrying it a few months back. I emailed coke to find out what what going on, yes I am that addicted, and they said that they still made it but it was up to the local distributors. Was I the only one buying it?

As I could still get it at work I was OK. Every day at noon I could get my fix. Those days seem to be over. I have not asked my cafeteria manager if the coke with lime has truly run out (He did start buying it because of me) and I don't think I really want to know the answer :(

So goodbye for now. Maybe folks will wise up and start stocking it again. Or if it is sold in your part of the country let me know and I can visit.

Maybe you could make your own? A squeeze of lime into regular coke? Might not taste exactly the same, but close...

Things did get to that at home when the lime was no longer at the market. I do my best at restaurants, but they get all mixed up when I ask for lime with a regular coke. They try to give me diet all the time....ick.

I suspect some kind of lime flavored syrup would work better. It is almost certainly what coke uses and the measurement could be standardized once we figure it out.

but really... we are way to lazy to do that... more likely we would buy lime coke off the internet in bulk :-).

I've seen huge bottles of interesting syrups at Cardullo's, among other places.

If you buy in bulk, will the shipping be huge?

I can just envision it now. A coke truck pulls up to your house and unloads more coke with lime than the eye can see. Hey, you can use all the extra room in your house to store it.

Did that work (doubting but hopeful)? Because I feel the same way about the Vanilla Diet Coke... The Black Cherry Vanilla just isn't the same. For the obvious reason...
