Grabbed from [livejournal.com profile] limbodog

The AFA has created a website with an auto-email submission link for the purpose of letting visitors tell Hallmark Greeting Cards chairman Hall that they will be going to their competitors on the news that Hallmark has created a new line of cards for gay marriages.

Would it just be terrible if a whole bunch of people from the internets used it to tell Hallmark that they supported their decision?

I chose to send directly to Donald J Hall, sgronb3@hallmark.com - I'd rather the AFA never see my email address, personally.

But thanks for the tip!

also, text, FWIW

Dear Chairman Hall:

I am encouraged that Hallmark recognized that Americans in same-sex
relationships are people too - and that they go through the same life
emotions and life events that your cards have allowed the rest of this
nation to celebrate and commemorate for decades. Please continue to
produce cards that speak to all of us.

I hear that some religious zealots plan to boycott you because they see
your latest cards as somehow endorsing societal decay. (If you get their
letters, tell them Senator McCarthy is long dead.) In any case, know that
I will in fact buy more Hallmark cards to support you, and I will
encourage my friends and colleagues to do the same.

Sincerely,
etc

Sent a short but sweet thank you for recognizing that love comes in many forms.

a contributor to datalounge had a great suggestion for AFA friendly cards:

Let's demand Hallmark support true American family values!

Congratulations On Your Third Marriage, Having Dumped the Wife You Dumped Your First Wife For Right After She Got Cancer

Congratulations On Dumping Your Crippled Wife for a Rich Bitch

Congratulations On Dumping the Wife Who Helped You Recover From Your War Injuries (And Paying No Child Support)

Congratulations On...Hell, Rudy, I Can't Even Keep Track

Good idea. I did. Now that horrible organization has my email address, but oh well. So does Victoria's Secret.

Anonymous email accounts are a wonderful way to leave comments or even to order things.

DONE! Brilliant! And--I can use the old email address that's due to expire very very soon now. But, tee hee, I don't check that address anyway so they are welcome to it! (I can understand anyone not wanting those bozos to have your real/major address.)

Thank you! Doing this was a definite happy point to the day!

What a clever idea. I used their template, just editing it a slight bit to read:
Dear Chairman Hall:

I am surprised that Hallmark is promoting an healthy lifestyle which is now legal in 2 states. There was a time Hallmark told us to send the very best and clearly you still do today. Thank you for continuing to take huge leaps forward. I'll be curious to see if American Greeting Cards, your competitor, will be following your excellent lead.

Again, well done.

Thank you for posting this. I'm going to support Hallmark even more now. In fact, I have two cards to buy today, and I will choose Hallmark brand.

Wow, whooda thunk? Being gay is unhealthy....
reminds me of a funny quote I saw..
"If being gay is a disease, shouldn't I stay home from work? "Can't work today, still gay."
